Ann Abrahmsen - the artist
Hi.
I am Ann and I was born in Terang, Victoria, Australia. I had the good fortune to grow up in multiple locations in rural Victoria. Dad was a contractor and mum was his best friend. Between them they produced nine of us so they were very busy.
I have reinvented myself many times in my very full life. I spent 13 years on a 20 acre property chasing sheep and chooks, mending fences, creating stone work, building, tinkering with alternative energy, gardening, weaving and creating with textiles.
I went to university for a year or two but got distracted having children which was great because by the time I went back again I had finally made up my mind about what I wanted to do!
After modest success as a writer/poet/editor, I have returned to my first love, the Visual Arts. After 9 years of tuition with Patricia Semmler at the Geelong School of Fine Arts, I am currently gaining my formal qualifications doing a Bachelor of Arts (Visual Arts) at The Gordon. What Bliss! Photos of some of my work produced during the last 10 years are located in the gallery section of this website. Of course, it is never the same as viewing art 'in the flesh' but, hey, I love creating it and I am happy to share the images with you.

Mal's an interesting guy and if you Google him you could spend weeks figuring out what he's up to.
